For many applications development of state-of-the-art photonic-based solutions requires careful selection and combination of various photonic integration circuit (PIC) technologies into hybrid PICs. Moreover, PIC adaption relies on engineering flows that predictably deliver the desired functionality, focusing on quality, costs and traceability. This presentation zooms in on the required PIC design and development strategies and considerations.
